Honeywell CT60 Mobile Computer - Features and Specifications
Unmatched Rugged Design
Ruggedness is a non-negotiable factor when it comes to enterprise-grade mobile computing, and Honeywell CT60 does not disappoint. The scanner comes with display protection, IP65 and IP67 ratings, drop test certifications, tumble rating and electrostatic discharge rating.
The CT60 barcode scanners are fitted with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 (on N6603SR scan engines) and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 (on N6703HD scan engines) displays. Corning Gorilla Glass is a chemically strengthened glass known for its scratch resistance and damage protection capabilities.
The CT60 scanners have a high level of protection against dust and water. They have been rigorously tested and certified with an IP65 and IP67 rating. This means that the scanners are dustproof, can withstand water jets from any direction and can be safely submerged in water up to 1 metre for 30 minutes.
The CT60 scanners are designed to survive multiple drops of up to.
- 2.4 m (8 ft) to concrete at room temperature as per MIL-STD 810G standard,
- 1.5 m (5 ft) to concrete at -10ºC to 50ºC (14ºF to 122ºF) temperature range,
- 1.2 m (4 ft) to concrete down to -20ºC (-4ºF)
The CT60 scanner has undergone testing according to IEC 60068-2-32 specification, certifying that it can survive over 1,000 tumbles of 1 metre (3.3 feet) in height.
Additionally, the scanner comes with a protection rating of ±8 kV direct and ±15 kV air for electrostatic discharge (ESD), ensuring that the device will not be affected by sudden electric shocks.
High-Performing System Architecture
The Honeywell Dolphin CT60 handheld computer is powered by a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor, making it one of the most powerful barcode scanners on the market.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset is manufactured using a 14-nanometer process technology. The chipset features four cores of Kryo 260 Gold (Cortex-A73) at 2200 MHz and four cores of Kryo 260 Silver (Cortex-A53) at 1840 MHz.
The Honeywell CT60 is offered in two memory configurations.
- 3 GB DDR4 RAM with 32 GB flash memory
- 4 GB DDR4 RAM with 32 GB flash memory
The scanner also has a user-accessible microSD card slot (SDXC/SDHC/SDIO compatible) to expand the onboard storage to 512 GB.
With lightning-fast data processing capabilities and swift application launches, the CT60 truly stands out from the competition.
Android Operating System
The Honeywell Dolphin CT60 mobile computer runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) operating system and provides a smooth and intuitive user experience. With this OS, users can easily access the Google Play store to download their favourite applications, games and more.
Honeywell guarantees that the device will receive major OS upgrades and regular security patches up until Android 11/R.
Intuitive Display and Touch Panel
The Honeywell CT60 boasts an impressive 4.7-inch (118 mm) capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The colour LCD panel provides bright and vibrant visuals with wide viewing angles, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Not only is the display visually appealing, but it also offers durability and better sunlight readability, thanks to its optically bonded touch panel. The panel supports landscape mode with polarising glasses, further enhancing readability in brightly lit and sunny environments.
The touch panel automatically switches between glove and finger modes, allowing users to operate the touchscreen even while wearing gloves. The display is equipped with oleophobic fingerprint rejection and water droplet rejection coatings to further enhance usability. These coatings make the display resistant to oil and water and prevent unwanted touch inputs.
The touch panel is also covered with Gorilla Glass, increasing its strength and durability.
Keypad and Functional Buttons
The Honeywell Dolphin CT60 mobile computer does not feature a physical keypad for data input. Instead, it has a virtual on-screen customisable keypad that can be used to enter text and numbers.
For added convenience, the scanner is equipped with six function buttons located on the sides of the device. These six buttons are dual-action side scan triggers, volume up/ down, camera and power. The buttons are easily accessible and can be used to perform specific tasks such as triggering a scan, adjusting volume, opening the camera app, switching the device on and off etc.
Audio Input and Output
The Dolphin CT60 scanner is equipped with dual noise-cancellation microphones and a speaker.
The built-in noise-cancellation microphone allows the scanner to record high-quality audio for recording voice notes, videos or other audio files. The speaker, on the other hand, can produce loud and clear audio with minimal distortion and can be used to play audio files and receive sound-based notification alerts.
Unfortunately, the CT60 scanner does not have an auxiliary 3.5 mm audio jack for connecting wired headphones. However, the device does support Bluetooth audio streaming, allowing users to connect their favourite wireless headphones.
Impressive Built-in Camera and Flash
The Honeywell CT60 scanner comes with a 13-megapixel colour camera, allowing users to capture clear and crisp images. The camera supports 4K video recording with image stabilisation, allowing you to capture smooth, stable, high-quality videos even while walking or running.
The scanner also has an integrated LED flash which can be used to take pictures in dark and low-light conditions. The LED flash is powerful enough and can be used as a standalone flashlight.
