TSC Auto ID technology (now called TSC Printronix Auto ID) was a sister company of Taiwan Semiconductor Company (TSC).
TSC is a Taiwanese multinational semiconductor contract manufacturing and design company founded in 1987. It is among the world’s most valuable semiconductor companies, with AMD, Apple, ARM, Broadcom, Marvell, MediaTek, and Nvidia among its many customers.
Arthur Wang, founder and CEO of Taiwan Semiconductor, recognized the potential of the barcode industry and the need for a reliable yet low-cost barcode label printer. With this in mind, he set up a printer division for OEM partnership with Eltron in January 1991. Arthur Wang then launched TSC into the auto-identification and capture (AIDC) industry.
Soon after, TSC began designing and manufacturing barcode label printers in its Taiwan-based manufacturing facilities. The company expanded to America (in 1999) and Europe (in 2002) to better serve its global customer base.
In 2007, TSC Auto ID technology split off from TSC and became an independent company. The newly formed company was then listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 2008.
Over the years, TSC Auto ID technology acquired and merged several companies to boost its product portfolio and global reach. One of the most prominent and recent mergers was with Printronix Auto ID in 2022. Thereafter, TSC Auto ID technology is now known as TSC Printronix Auto ID.
Today, with thirty years of experience, TSC Printronix Auto-ID has become a leading manufacturer of high-performance barcode printers. It is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, with offices in America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific with a team of passionate and experienced professionals.
